Description of Action

Establishes the City’s Preliminary non-ad valorem assessment rate for Residential solid waste services and calls for notice of a final hearing on annual rate to be held on Thursday September 12, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. with notice to be provided through the County’s annual TRIM mailing notice.  Funds are used by City to pay for costs of Residential Solid Waste services under a City agreement with Waste Management.

Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary

Provides annual non-ad valorem assessment for Residential solid waste service.  Current rate and proposed change comply with parameters of the City’s exclusive services agreement with the Waste Management firm as follows:

Current Assessment 2012/13               $ 271.68 yr.                   $ 22.64 mo.

 Waste Mgmt. Annual Adjustment             2.88 yr.

Proposed Assessment 2013/14             $ 274.56 yr.                    $ 22.88 mo.
